The blank is built around a 416R stainless steel core wrapped in a structural carbon fiber sleeve, the same construction Proof Research uses on its complete bolt action barrels. The carbon fiber outer wrap is engineered to shift harmonic nodes and dissipate heat faster than a comparable all-steel barrel while trimming meaningful weight from the finished rifle.
