The Pietta 1873 Great Western II Alchimista II is a single-action revolver chambered in .45 Colt and crafted in Italy by Pietta's craftsmen in Brescia, a region with a firearms-making tradition dating back centuries, and imported into the United States by EMF Company. This Alchimista II configuration pairs the Great Western II action with an 1860 Army grip frame for a classic Old West profile that sits naturally in the hand.

At its core sits a blued steel barrel measuring 5.5 inches and a matching blued cylinder holding 6 rounds of .45 Colt, all mounted on a color case hardened steel frame. The revolver runs on a traditional single-action-only (SAO) mechanism with an exposed hammer that can be thumb-cocked for precise shot timing, and a simple blade front sight provides a clean sight picture. Checkered walnut Army grips complete the period-correct package.
