The Pietta 1858 Army is an Italian-made reproduction of the legendary Remington 1858 New Army percussion revolver, chambered in .44 caliber black powder. Built around a polished brass frame, this single-action cap-and-ball revolver pairs a classic 8" octagonal barrel in blued steel with a true 6-shot cylinder for traditional range sessions, trail shooting, or cowboy-action competition.

The action is a traditional single-action-only (SAO) design - cock the hammer, seat a fresh percussion cap on the nipple, and pull the trigger - just as cavalrymen and frontiersmen did during the Civil War era. The barrel is rifled with a 1:30 twist for accuracy with round lead ball, conical bullets, or saboted projectiles. Genuine walnut grips give a warm, period-correct feel in hand, and the blued cylinder pairs handsomely with the brass grip frame and brass trigger guard to give this revolver its unmistakable old-world appearance.
