The Pietta 1851 Navy "Old Silver" revives one of the most recognizable cap-and-ball sidearms of the mid-1800s. Built by Italian manufacturer Pietta, this single-action percussion revolver is chambered in 36 Caliber for traditional black powder muzzleloading, faithfully reproducing the fast-handling, mild-recoiling revolver that earned its place on the hips of soldiers, lawmen, and frontiersmen of the period.
At the heart of the revolver sits a steel frame finished in a distinctive old silver tone, paired with a 7.50-inch octagon barrel rifled with a 1:3-inch twist. The six-shot cylinder is paired with a striker-fire ignition system and single-action-only (SAO) trigger for the deliberate, controlled shooting cadence expected of a period percussion revolver. Traditional walnut grip panels complete the period-correct profile.
Measuring 13.20 inches overall and weighing 2.64 lbs, the 1851 Navy "Old Silver" carries comfortably for a long range session or a day on the reenactment field. This is a New production Pietta reproduction, an ideal choice for black powder enthusiasts, Cowboy Action Shooters, and collectors of Old West revolvers.
