The Midwest Industries Upper Receiver Rod (MI-URR) is a purpose-built AR-15 reaction rod engineered for installing and removing stubborn barrel nuts without twisting or damaging the upper receiver.
Inserted down the bore from the muzzle end, this rod uses the barrel extension as a hardened anchor so that high torque applied to the barrel nut is reacted through the rod instead of through the receiver threads. It is the go-to fix for seized, over-torqued, or factory-stubborn barrel nuts that standard block-and-wrench methods cannot budge.
Machined from 4140 ordnance-grade steel with a durable Black finish, the MI-URR is built to take real bench abuse. It is compatible with any standard M4, M16, or AR-15 upper that uses a conventional barrel extension, and pairs naturally with a proper torque wrench and bench vise for a controlled install.
Made by Midwest Industries to gunsmith standards, the MI-URR is a shop-grade tool that belongs in every home AR builder's bench setup.
