The MEC Spindex Crimp Kit is a quick-change shotshell reloading accessory designed for 20 Gauge hulls. Produced by Mayville Engineering Company (MEC) in the USA, this kit lets the reloader switch between a 6-point and an 8-point crimp without re-tooling the press, making it easy to match the crimp style to a given hull or load.

The crimp starter is molded from Celcon, a tough, dimensionally stable polymer that holds up to repeated cycling and produces clean, consistent folds in the hull mouth. The Spindex design auto-aligns the crimp and swaps between 6-point and 8-point in seconds, so changing crimp styles mid-session is a simple matter of rotating the head. The kit is a direct fit for MEC shotshell reloaders and is especially useful for working with once-fired hulls that already carry an established crimp memory, allowing the reloader to replicate the original crimp pattern or step up to a different point count as needed.
