The Magpul MIAD (Mission Adaptable) Gen 1.1 Grip Kit is a drop-in replacement pistol grip engineered for the AR-15/M4/M16 family of rifles. Built on an all-polymer core, this Type 1 configuration is dimensioned for standard 5.56x45mm receivers and most 7.62x51mm AR-pattern lowers, giving the shooter a solid, ergonomic upgrade over the factory A2 grip. At just 4 in tall, it follows the familiar AR pistol-grip silhouette while introducing real Mission Adaptable geometry to the rear of the receiver.

The defining feature of the MIAD system is its interchangeable front and rear straps, allowing the user to dial in hand size, grip reach, and trigger-finger placement for a truly personalized fit. The grip surfaces are molded with Magpul's signature aggressive texture, providing positive purchase and consistent weapon control even with gloves, wet hands, or in dynamic shooting positions. Internal storage is built in for a cleaning kit or small accessories, keeping field-service items tucked away inside the grip.

Finished in OD Green, this MIAD Gen 1.1 Type 1 grip installs with the standard AR grip screw and does not require modification to most mil-spec or commercial lower receivers. The MAG520-ODG ships ready to install. Magpul offers a related Type 2 (MAG521) kit for some larger 7.62x51mm-pattern lowers; this Type 1 is the correct choice for the majority of AR-15 and AR-10 builds.
