The Leupold VX-3HD 4.5-14x40mm riflescope delivers legendary VX-3 performance in a lighter, tougher hunting package built around Leupold's Elite Optical System. Purpose-built as a versatile mid-to-long range hunting optic, this scope pairs a 4.5-14x magnification range with a 40mm objective lens and a 30mm main tube for generous elevation travel and strong low-light performance.

At the core of the optic is the CDS-ZL (Custom Dial System ZeroLock) elevation turret. The low-profile, one-revolution ZeroLock design lets the shooter dial to a custom ballistic curve for a specific load and then lock the dial back to zero with a positive click. The exposed elevation turret and matching capped windage turret keep adjustments tactile and repeatable, while side focus parallax adjustment calibrated to 75 yards removes parallax error at extended ranges. Field of view runs 19.90 to 7.40 ft at 100 yds across the magnification range, and adjustment clicks are tuned to 1/4 MOA for precise dialing.

The Wind-Plex second focal plane (SFP) reticle uses a fine crosshair with additional windage hold references, giving shooters a clean aiming point with built-in holdover capability for wind. An integrated, removable throw lever is included for fast magnification changes in the field.
