The Leupold BackCountry Cross-Slot Scope Base is a precision scope mounting platform purpose-built for the Kimber 84L bolt-action rifle. Part of Leupold's BackCountry line of scope mounts, this one-piece base delivers a lightweight, rugged foundation for long-range optics, giving shooters a reliable mounting solution for today's most demanding hunting and precision shooting applications.
Machined from 7075-T6 aircraft-grade aluminum, the BackCountry base keeps weight to a minimum without sacrificing strength or rigidity. The matte black finish is corrosion-resistant and matches the factory finish of most modern bolt-action rifles. A milled-in recoil lug and low-profile design ensure the base sits securely on the receiver with no harsh edges or snag points, even when the optic is removed.
This base is configured with a 20 MOA slope, which adds built-in elevation to the optic's mounting plane. The added cant is ideal for long-range shooting, where additional internal elevation adjustment is often required to compensate for bullet drop at extended distances. The Cross-Slot design accepts both Picatinny- and Weaver-style rings, giving shooters flexibility in choosing the optic-mounting hardware that best suits their setup.
Engineered specifically for the Kimber 84L long action, this base is 5.90" in overall length and mounts directly to the rifle's receiver using standard 8-40 screw hardware. The one-piece construction provides a rock-solid platform for your optic. Rings are sold separately.
