The decapping rod is the small pin inside the decapping die that pushes spent primers out of the case during the resizing step of reloading. Made from polished, bearing-grade steel, the rod is sized to drop directly into Lee pistol decapping dies with no fitting or modification required. A bent, worn, or broken decapper is one of the most common reasons a die suddenly stops sizing cases, so keeping a spare on the bench keeps your reloading session from grinding to a halt.
