Lee 90865 Carbide Factory Crimp Die 45 Colt / 454 Casull

The Lee 90865 Carbide Factory Crimp Die is a single-die reloading tool purpose-built for the .45 Colt revolver cartridge, and it can also be set up for the .454 Casull with the addition of shim washers under the shellholder. Part of Lee's well-known Factory Crimp Die family, this die is designed to be run as the final step in a pistol reloading sequence and is calibrated specifically for the Long Colt case.

Unlike a collet-style crimper, the Lee Factory Crimp Die applies a precise, roll-style crimp that is adjustable via the die's screw, letting the reloader dial in exactly the amount of crimp needed for cast or jacketed .45 Colt bullets. An integrated carbide sizer inside the die automatically re-sizes every case after crimping, so loaded rounds come out straight, uniform, and ready to chamber with factory-like consistency. The die body is machined from carbide for long service life and smooth case feeding, and is fitted with an ergonomic plastic handle with a rubber grip for comfortable, slip-free operation on the press.

The die accepts standard 7/8"-14 threading, fitting virtually any modern reloading press, and is sold as a single die intended to be used in conjunction with a separate sizing/depriming and expanding die set (sold separately) to complete a .45 Colt reloading workflow. A shellholder is included with the die so it is ready to mount right out of the box.
