The KNS Precision PERMA Firing Pin Retaining Pin is a drop-in upgrade for the standard cotter pin found inside the AR-15/M16 bolt carrier to retain the firing pin, just as on original Stoner-pattern rifles. Where the factory split cotter pin can vibrate loose, snag on a magazine or dust cover, or shear under hard use, the PERMA Pin is a single solid retainer that stays put.

Machined from solid tool steel and finished in a corrosion-resistant black nitride coating, the PERMA Pin is built to mil-spec tolerances and installs in seconds with no modification to the carrier. Its low-profile, flat-cap head keeps the retainer tucked safely inside the bolt so it cannot catch on magazines, the dust cover, or gear during firing or handling.

The PERMA Pin is designed to fit any standard mil-spec AR-15 bolt carrier and is not compatible with .308 / AR-10 bolt carrier groups.
