The Kinetic Development Group SID5-220 Sidelok is a dedicated red dot mount engineered to hold the Trijicon MRO, Trijicon MRO Patrol, and Burris RT-1X on any standard Picatinny (1913) rail. Part of KDG's patented Sidelok mount family, it uses a spring-loaded cam and locking bar arrangement that clamps the mount down with a single push of the large side button - no tools, no levers, no loose screws to walk loose under recoil. The mount releases just as quickly with a second push, letting the operator remove or swap the optic in seconds while still returning it to the original point of aim without a re-zero.
This specific Sidelok variant is set up for a lower 1/3 co-witness with standard AR-height backup iron sights, putting the optic centerline 1.56" above the rail. The dedicated Trijicon MRO / MRO Patrol / Burris RT-1X footprint locks the optic body into precisely machined recesses so it cannot shift fore, aft, or laterally under fire. The mount is CNC-machined from aluminum and finished in a low-glare black anodized coating that matches most factory receivers and free-float rails.
At just 2.25" overall length and 0.88" tall, with a total weight of 2.90 oz, the SID5-220 adds minimal bulk to the top of the rifle. The low-profile design keeps the optic close to the bore line for a natural cheek weld and an unobstructed sight picture through the MRO's wide objective window. The Sidelok cam locks the entire assembly tight so the optic stays put through hard use on an AR-15, PCC, or similar platform.
Installation is straightforward: set the mount on a clean Picatinny rail, press the side button to seat the locking bar, and release - the cam pulls the clamp down and the optic is secured. For maintenance, the mount can be removed and reinstalled repeatedly without losing zero, making it well suited to duty rifles, home-defense builds, and 3-Gun or recreational setups where the optic may be transferred between hosts.
