The Kershaw Lateral (Model 1645) is a full-size assisted-opening folding work knife built for everyday carry and tough utility tasks. The 3.1" drop point blade carries a slight recurve that lengthens the cutting edge, making it well suited for slicing rope, cardboard, packaging, and other everyday cutting chores.

The blade is ground from 8Cr13MoV stainless steel and finished with a stonewashed treatment that helps hide use scratches while remaining easy to re-sharpen. A plain edge profile keeps the cutting geometry simple and produces clean, controlled cuts across a wide range of materials. At 3.2 oz and 7.4" overall open with a 4.3" closed length, the Lateral is sized to feel substantial in hand without weighing down a pocket.

Deployment is handled by Kershaw's SpeedSafe assisted-opening system with a flipper tab, so the blade snaps open quickly and locks up securely. The handle is built from gray textured glass-filled nylon (GFN) for a confident grip in wet or dry conditions, and a reversible extra-deep-carry pocket clip keeps carry low and discreet. A custom backspacer rounds out the clean, modern profile, and the knife ships ready to use right out of the box.
