The Kershaw Layup (2047) is an everyday-carry folding knife built around a 3.4" drop-point blade in D2 tool steel with a stonewashed finish. D2 delivers strong edge retention and wear resistance for daily cutting tasks, while the stonewashed coating helps hide the scratches a hard-use folder picks up over time. The plain-edge blade deploys smoothly via a flipper tab riding on KVT ball bearings, with assisted opening that snaps the blade into position with a confident click.

Once open, the Layup is held securely by Kershaw's DuraLock crossbar lock, a sturdy mechanism that locks the blade solidly during use. Overall length measures 7.9" with a 4.5" closed length, and the whole package weighs just 3.6 oz, light enough for comfortable all-day pocket carry.

The handle is built from black glass-filled nylon (GFN), a tough, lightweight synthetic that holds up well to everyday use.
