The Iver Johnson Arms 1911 A1 is a Government-size single-action semi-auto pistol chambered in 38 Super. Built on the classic 1911 platform, this model pairs a 5" barrel with a 9+1 single-stack magazine, delivering a traditional shooting experience in a cartridge that offers a noticeable step up in velocity over the more common .45 ACP.

Both the frame and slide are constructed of steel — the frame is 1045 steel and the slide is 4140 steel — and finished in a no-nonsense matte blued finish. The slide carries traditional serrations for press checks and chambering, while an extended beavertail helps mitigate slide bite during recoil. Classic double diamond checkered walnut grips complete the period-correct look.

Sighting is handled by traditional GI fixed post front and fixed rear dovetail sights, and the pistol is equipped with a standard grip and thumb safety for cocked-and-locked carry.
