The Howa M1500 Fence Line in 223 Rem is a purpose-built bolt-action rifle aimed at varmint and predator hunters who want a threaded, short-barrel carbine in a field-ready camouflage package. The Fence Line series from Howa packages the proven M1500 action in a compact, threaded rifle dressed in a hunter-friendly stock finish, and this example ships in the Prairie Reaper pattern.

At the heart of the rifle is a 22" barrel with a 1:8 rate of twist, well-suited to stabilizing a wide range of .223 Rem bullet weights from light varmint loads to heavier projectiles. The barrel is threaded for a muzzle device or suppressor and finished in Burnt Bronze along with the rest of the metalwork. The compact 22" tube brings the overall length to 43.5", keeping the rifle handy in a blind or while working the back of a pickup.

The proven M1500 bolt feeds a detachable 10-round magazine for an effective 10+1 capacity, and this rifle ships with one 10-round magazine included. The action is mounted in a synthetic stock finished in the Prairie Reaper camouflage pattern for concealment across open country. At approximately 6.4 lbs, the Fence Line is light enough for long stalks and steady enough off a rest for accurate predator work. The rifle is built right-handed.
