Each bullet is a 20 grain spitzer with a .172" diameter, built around a lead core wrapped in a precision copper jacket and crowned with Hornady's signature polymer tip.

The V-Max is engineered for varmint hunters who demand accuracy and explosive terminal performance. The sharply pointed polymer tip initiates expansion on impact and helps drive a high ballistic coefficient for flat trajectory. Carrying a ballistic coefficient of .185 and a sectional density of .097, these projectiles expand and fragment at velocities as low as 1,600 fps, delivering the dramatic expansion and explosive fragmentation the V-Max line is known for.
