This .338 caliber loading features a 200 grain projectile built around a polymer tip, copper jacket, and lead core using Hornady's proven InterLock design.

The SST uses a traditional cup-and-core construction with a gilding metal jacket over a 3% antimony lead core. The jacket is tapered to aid expansion at reduced velocities, and an InterLock ring mechanically locks the jacket to the core to resist core-jacket separation on tough game. A polymer tip resists deformation in the magazine and initiates reliable expansion on impact, while a cannelure provides a positive crimp reference for handloaders.

With a ballistic coefficient of .455 and sectional density of .250, the 200 grain SST delivers strong downrange performance for medium-large game, making it a versatile choice for handloaders seeking controlled expansion and deep penetration.
