Hornady Neck Turn Mandrel 270 Cal Stainless Steel

The Hornady Neck Turn Mandrel for 270 Cal is a replacement pilot used with the Hornady Lock-N-Load Neck Turn Tool to refine case neck dimensions during precision rifle reloading. The mandrel slips into the case mouth and establishes a precise 0.275" internal neck diameter, allowing the cutter blade of the Neck Turn Tool to skim the outside of the case neck to a controlled, uniform wall thickness. This is the process competitive shooters and handloaders use to fine-tune neck concentricity and reduce run-out for improved accuracy.

Each Hornady neck turn mandrel is machined from stainless steel with a silver finish, sized to a specific caliber so the case necks on with a snug, accurate fit during the turning operation. This 270 Cal mandrel is intended for use exclusively with the Hornady Neck Turner Tool and the appropriate caliber-matched cutter (sold separately). Mandrels are sold individually so reloaders can select exactly the caliber they load for.

The Hornady Neck Turn Tool ships with mandrels for the four most common calibers (22 Cal, 6mm, 6.5mm, and 30 Cal). Additional calibers such as this 270 Cal mandrel, along with 7mm and 8mm options, are available as individual replacements so reloaders can expand the tool's coverage to match their case inventory.
