The Hornady InterLock is one of the most respected bullet designs in reloading, trusted by hunters for generations. This 8mm (.323") loading features a 195gr Spire Point profile built for rifle hunting applications where controlled expansion and deep penetration matter most.
Hornady builds each bullet around a traditional cup-and-core construction, with a copper jacket wrapped around a soft lead core. The exposed lead tip initiates expansion on impact, while the signature raised InterLock ring is mechanically embedded inside the core. That interlocking ring locks the jacket and core together as the bullet expands, so the projectile retains mass and energy instead of shedding its jacket or fragmenting prematurely.
These component bullets carry a ballistic coefficient of .410 and a sectional density of .267, with a cannelure for secure crimping when used in bottleneck-case rifle cartridges. They are made in the USA and packed 100 per box, with 15 boxes per case for a total of 1,500 bullets per case.
These are component bullets only, not loaded ammunition. Handloaders use them for the 8mm Mauser (8x57mm JS) and other .323" diameter rifle cartridges. The 195gr Spire Point is a proven choice for medium to large game, from whitetail and black bear at sensible ranges to elk and moose when paired with the right powder charge.
