The Hornady InterLock is one of the most time-tested hunting bullet designs ever produced, and this .270 Caliber loading brings that proven performance to the handloader's bench. Each bullet is a 150 grain Spire Point built on a traditional exposed-soft-point profile with a streamlined ogive for flat trajectory and reliable magazine feeding. The .277" diameter projectile is sized specifically for the .270 Winchester family of cartridges.
Hornady's signature InterLock ring is mechanically swaged into the bullet's copper jacket, locking the lead core inside so the two components stay bonded through penetration. The result is controlled expansion with high retained weight, deep wound channels, and consistent terminal performance on medium to large North American game, from whitetail and mule deer through elk. A cannelure is pressed into the jacket to secure the bullet during case-mouth crimping and to provide a positive seating-depth reference.
On the books, these bullets carry a ballistic coefficient of .462 and a sectional density of .279, placing them squarely in the big-game category. The lead core is enclosed in a match-grade copper jacket, and the exposed lead tip initiates expansion reliably on impact. The 150 grain Spire Point is a hard-hitting, deep-penetrating choice well suited to both western big-game country and eastern whitetail stands.
This listing is for one factory-sealed box of 100 Hornady 2740 InterLock bullets. Whether you are working up a load for a working rifle, tuning an old favorite, or stocking up for an upcoming season, the InterLock remains a benchmark hunting bullet at a sensible price point.
