The Hornady FTX is a .45 Caliber (.452) 200 grain handgun reloading bullet built around Hornady's patented Flex Tip eXpanding technology. A soft polymer tip is seated into a copper-jacketed bullet built on a lead core, with a cannelure provided for consistent crimping and bullet seating across revolver and lever-action cartridges. The FTX tip is engineered to be safe in tubular magazines while still initiating reliable expansion on impact.

Sized for the .452" bullet diameter and intended for medium to large game hunting as well as defensive handgun handloads, the FTX delivers controlled expansion across a wide velocity range. Ballistic performance for this bullet is rated at a G1 ballistic coefficient of .145 with a sectional density of .149. It is the factory component used in Hornady's LEVERevolution ammunition and is a proven choice for handloaders building .460 S&W and similar hunting and defensive rounds.
