The Hornady FTX is a 44 Caliber .430 diameter, 265 gr reloading bullet built around Hornady's patented Flex Tip eXpanding technology. Originally developed for the 444 Marlin and modern lever-action rifles, the FTX brings polymer-tip performance and reliable expansion to lever-gun platforms.

At the core of the design is a soft polymer tip that compresses on impact and initiates immediate expansion across a wide range of velocities. The bullet features a copper jacket over a lead core, a secant ogive profile, and a cannelure for secure case seating. It carries a ballistic coefficient of .225 and a sectional density of .205 for deep penetration and consistent terminal performance.

This is the same bullet used in Hornady's LEVERevolution factory ammunition, making it a proven choice for handloaders building 444 Marlin and other large-bore lever-action rounds. Each box contains 50 bullets, with 15 boxes per case (750 bullets per case).
