This stem is profile-cut to match the 145 grain ELD-X bullet in .270 caliber (.277" diameter), so the projectile is held straight and concentric as it is seated - critical for accuracy with pointed, polymer-tipped bullets.

The ELD-X line is built around Hornady's Heat Shield tip and secant ogive profile, and any deformation to the tip during seating costs downrange performance.
