The Hornady ELD-X (Extremely Low Drag-eXpanding) in .270 caliber is a high-ballistic-coefficient hunting projectile engineered for reliable, controlled expansion across the full spectrum of practical hunting ranges. Each box contains 100 bullets of 145 grain weight with a .277 inch diameter, built to match-accurate standards.
At the front of every ELD-X sits the signature polymer tip protected by Hornady's Heat Shield tip technology, which resists aerodynamic heating and deformation from magazine to muzzle. The result is a sleek, exceptionally consistent meplat that drives an impressive ballistic coefficient of .536, giving handloaders flatter trajectories and reduced wind drift over traditional hunting projectiles.
Beneath the tip is a lead core wrapped in a copper-coated AMP jacket built with the proven InterLock ring. The thick shank provides controlled expansion, deep penetration, large wound channels, and 85-90% retained weight on impact. With a sectional density of .270 and no cannelure, the 145 grain ELD-X is well suited for hunting medium game such as whitetail deer, mule deer, and pronghorn.
Your purchase includes one factory box of 100 Hornady ELD-X .277 diameter 145 grain projectiles, packaged 100 per box and 15 boxes per case, ready for handloading.
