Built on an AMP (Advanced Manufacturing Process) copper jacket over a lead core and topped with Hornady's signature Heat Shield polymer tip, this bullet is engineered to deliver consistent accuracy and a high ballistic coefficient of .523 at a sectional density of .253.

The Heat Shield tip solves a real-world problem: conventional polymer tips on high-BC bullets can soften and deform in flight due to aerodynamic heating. Hornady's tip resists that effect, so the meplat holds its shape from muzzle exit through supersonic and transonic flight, preserving the bullet's drag profile and downrange accuracy.

At 168 grain, this is the classic match weight for the .308 Winchester and similar .30 caliber cartridges, and Hornady recommends a 1:12" twist rate for proper stabilization.
