The Hornady 2635 ELD-X is a 6.5mm (.264) 143 gr hunting bullet engineered for match-grade accuracy and reliable terminal performance at all practical hunting distances. Part of Hornady's ELD-X (Extremely Low Drag - eXpanding) line, this projectile delivers consistent, controlled expansion from close-range shots out to extended ranges.
At the heart of the design is Hornady's Heat Shield polymer tip, which resists the aerodynamic heating that can deform conventional polymer tips in flight. This allows the 6.5mm ELD-X to maintain an impressive ballistic coefficient of .625 for flat trajectory and excellent wind-bucking capability. The tip also initiates reliable expansion at lower velocities, while the thick shank of the jacket and an InterLock ring hold the bullet together for deep penetration and high weight retention at long range.
Construction pairs a lead core with Hornady's AMP (Advanced Manufacturing Process) copper jacket and a copper bullet coating for reduced fouling. The result is a controlled-expansion projectile with a sectional density of .293 and no cannelure, giving handloaders flexibility in dialing in precise seating depths for long-range accuracy.
Designed for large game hunting, the 143-grain 6.5mm ELD-X delivers controlled expansion and deep penetration across the full range of practical hunting distances. Each box contains 100 bullets measuring 2.80 in overall length, packed 15 boxes per case.
