Hoppes 1401 Rifle Rod to Shotgun Brush Thread Adapter

The Hoppes 1401 Thread Adapter is a compact, purpose-built cleaning accessory that lets a standard rifle cleaning rod accept shotgun brushes, mops, and jags. It bridges the two dominant thread standards used across the Hoppes cleaning system and the broader firearms-cleaning industry, eliminating the need to own separate rods for rifles and shotguns.

One end of the adapter is cut with an 8-32 male thread that threads directly into the female tip of a Hoppes rifle cleaning rod - the same standard thread used on virtually all centerfire and rimfire rifle brushes and jags. The opposite end is machined with a 5/16-27 female thread, which is the standard fitting found on shotgun brushes, wool mops, and shotgun jags. The result is a single, lightweight coupling that lets one rod serve both rifles and shotguns.

Machined from aluminum, the 1401 is built to handle repeated use in the field or on the bench. It is designed for use with Hoppes rifle rods and shotgun brushes and also accepts any cleaning component built to the same standard 8-32 male and 5/16-27 female threads, giving shooters a simple, low-cost way to get more use out of the cleaning gear they already own.
