The Holosun IRIS-RD2 (IRIS 2) is a dual-function multi-laser aiming device that pairs a visible red laser with a Class 1 infrared (IR) VCSEL pointer in a single rugged housing. Built for tactical rifles and carbines, the IRIS 2 gives the operator a daylight-visible aiming reference and a night-vision-compatible IR pointer co-aligned on the same optical axis, so the visible and IR beams share one zero.
\n\nThe redesigned 7075-T6 aluminum housing reduces weight by roughly 45% and sits about 21% lower than the previous generation, helping the unit tuck closer to the rail and reduce snag hazard. The IRIS-RD2 clamps to any standard Picatinny rail and carries an IPX8 waterproof rating, with Holosun testing the unit to withstand 1000G vibration loads. Operating temperature is rated from -20 degrees C to 51 degrees C.
\n\nOutput is rated at 5 mW for the 635 nm visible red laser and 0.7 mW for the IR pointer. Both beams are adjustable via 0.5 MOA per-click windage and elevation turrets with a total adjustment range of plus or minus 50 MOA. Power is supplied by a single CR123A lithium battery. Overall dimensions are 3.2" x 1.85" x 1.3" at approximately 5 oz.
\n\nThe unit ships with a Crane-style remote cable switch for off-gun activation and a center-positioned fire button on the housing itself, giving the shooter both on-gun and remote activation options. The black anodized housing and integrated recoil lug provide a secure, repeatable mounting point on a standard Picatinny rail.
\n\nManufactured by Holosun, the IRIS-RD2 is a compact, NVG-compatible aiming laser for AR-platform rifles, designated-marksman setups, and any application where co-aligned red and IR pointing is required.
