The Hexmag Carbon Fiber Shorty is a compact 20-round detachable magazine built for AR-15 type firearms chambered in 5.56x45mm NATO (also compatible with .223 Remington). Constructed around a carbon fiber-reinforced body, Hexmag markets this Shorty variant as stronger than steel and roughly 20% lighter than standard polymer magazines, giving AR shooters a trimmer, lighter stick that still holds a full 20 rounds.

The body carries Hexmag's patented HEXTURE raised-hex surface pattern, which is designed to deliver a positive, slip-resistant grip in wet, cold, muddy, or gloved conditions.
