The Griffin Armament M4SD Gate-Lok Hammer Comp is a precision compensator built around the company's proven Gate-Lok quick-detach mounting system, purpose-designed for 5.56 NATO AR-pattern carbines. Machined from heat-treated 17-4PH stainless steel (H900 heat treatment, approximately 45 RC) and finished in low-glare black QPQ nitride, the M4SD delivers meaningful recoil and muzzle-rise reduction without the weight penalty of a heavier brake.

At just 2.4 oz, the Hammer Comp measures only 1.75" overall with an 0.863" outer diameter, keeping your rifle's handling quick and pointable. The integrated overtravel stop and dual sacrificial baffles work together to redirect gas, flatten recoil, and keep the sights on target for faster follow-up shots on the AR-15 / M4 platform. The Gate-Lok locking interface provides a tight, repeatable lock-up and is fully ambidextrous for left- or right-hand installation.
