The Federal Fusion Component bullet brings the bonded-construction terminal performance of Federal's loaded Fusion ammunition line into a handloader's hands. Each .308 diameter, 180 grain projectile is built around a pressure-formed lead core that is electrochemically fused to a copper jacket, giving the bullet the high weight retention and consistent expansion that have made Fusion a favorite for hunting mid-size game such as whitetail deer.

The Fusion Soft Point profile uses a skived tip to initiate expansion across a wide velocity window, so the bullet performs predictably whether pushed at moderate .308 Winchester velocities or loaded to higher magnum pressures. With a ballistic coefficient of .483, the 180-grain projectile delivers a flat trajectory and good wind-bucking ability for typical hunting ranges.
