The Faxon Firearms Match Series 18" 6.5 Creedmoor AR-10 Big Gunner barrel is a match-grade component cut from a 416-R stainless steel blank and profiled with added mass at the chamber that tapers gradually toward the muzzle. The Big Gunner contour is engineered to dampen barrel harmonics and support long, heavy projectiles, while still keeping the overall weight manageable on a precision AR-10 build.

The bore is cut with 5R button rifling at a 1:8 rate of twist, a combination chosen for the 6.5 Creedmoor cartridge. The 5R geometry uses five lands with gentler rifling angles to reduce bullet jacket deformation and fouling, while the 1:8 twist stabilizes the full range of 6.5 Creedmoor bullet weights - from lighter varmint-style projectiles to the heavier match and hunting bullets used at extended range. The barrel is finished in NP3, a nickel-PTFE coating that resists corrosion, sheds fouling, and makes routine cleaning noticeably easier.
