Faxon Firearms Gunner Lightweight AR-15 5.56x45mm NATO Bolt Carrier Group - Nitride

The Faxon Firearms Gunner Lightweight Bolt Carrier Group is a complete reduced-mass operating assembly for AR-15 rifles chambered in .223 Remington and 5.56x45mm NATO. Its M16-pattern carrier retains the full-auto trip for compatible fire-control and multi-stage trigger systems, while the reduced-mass Gunner geometry and optimized cam path are designed for smoother cycling and faster follow-up shots. The complete assembly weighs 8.5 oz, and Faxon recommends an adjustable gas block to tune gas flow for proper operation.

At the heart of the group is a 9310 tool steel bolt that is fully MIL-SPEC heat-treated, shot-peened, magnetic-particle inspected and salt-bath nitrided. The rear surfaces of the locking lugs are chamfered to support reliable cycling. Its S7 tool steel extractor is fully heat-treated, MIL-SPEC shot-peened and salt-bath nitrided, with the extractor spring, insert and Crane O-ring installed.

The reduced-mass carrier is machined from 8620 steel and receives Faxon's Superfinish treatment. It includes forward-assist serrations and remains compatible with a standard dust cover. The 4140 steel gas key is fully heat-treated and salt-bath nitrided, then secured with Grade 8 fasteners, fully staked and Permatex sealed. A pre-hardened 4140 steel cam pin with the same nitride treatment completes the operating components. The carrier and key weigh 6.32 oz without the bolt and pins.

A QPQ salt-bath-nitride finish is applied across the assembly to increase surface hardness while reducing friction and improving wear and corrosion resistance. Each carrier is marked with a laser-engraved Faxon shield after inspection. This bolt carrier group is offered in New condition.
