Faxon Firearms Duty Series AR-15 5.56 NATO 14.5" 1:8 Pencil Barrel - Black Nitride

The Faxon Firearms Duty Series 14.5" Pencil Profile barrel brings the trim, lightweight front end of a pencil contour to the AR-15 platform, cut for the 5.56 NATO cartridge and built to the same quality standards as the rest of Faxon's Duty Series line.

This 14.5" barrel is machined from 4150 CMV steel and treated with a black nitride finish inside and out for corrosion resistance, surface hardness, and improved lubricity. It is button rifled with a 1:8 twist rate that stabilizes the full spectrum of .223 Remington and 5.56 NATO bullet weights, and comes in at roughly 18.4 oz as a bare barrel - by far the lightest contour in the Duty Series family. The pencil profile makes it a natural fit for carbine and lightweight SPR builds where trimming front-end weight is a priority.

The barrel is set up with a mid-length gas system and a .625" gas block journal, and is threaded 1/2x28 for standard 5.56 NATO muzzle devices and flash hiders. It drops into any mil-spec AR-15 upper and is sold as a brand-new bare barrel ready for installation.
