The Ed Brown EVO KC9 is the inaugural model in Ed Brown's Evolution series, a compact, modernized take on the classic 1911 platform chambered in 9mm Luger. Purpose-built for everyday carry, the KC9 pairs a shortened and thinned 4" slide with a match-grade bull barrel and a flat wire recoil spring system, shedding weight while preserving the unmistakable 1911 feel and control layout.

The frame is machined from stainless steel and dressed in Ed Brown's signature Snakeskin serration pattern on the frontstrap and mainspring housing, finished in a clean satin stainless. The grip frame is cut in the Bobtail configuration, reducing the backstrap footprint for a lower, more comfortable carry profile. The slide carries matching serrated cocking serrations along with a custom 7-top cut and a recessed slide stop, and features an external extractor and easy-to-change front sight dovetail.

Fitted with Black G10 grips, the EVO KC9 carries a 9+1 capacity through a single-stack magazine. The action is a crisp single-action-only (SAO) design, with Ed Brown's traditional grip and thumb safeties in their proven configuration. Sights are a high-visibility HD XR front paired with a U-Noth rear for a clean contrast picture.

Specifications include a 4" bull barrel, an overall length of 7.5", a height of 5.35", a width of 1.3", and a carry-friendly weight of 34 oz. Each EVO KC9 is hand-finished in the USA and ships from Ed Brown as a complete, ready-to-shoot carry pistol.
