The DNT Optics HOUND H315R is a handheld thermal imaging scanner built around a high-sensitivity 384x288, 12µm thermal sensor with an impressive NETD of ≤18mK, allowing it to detect subtle heat signatures with sharp clarity in low-light and no-light conditions. Designed for hunters, scouts, and long-range shooters, the H315R pairs its thermal engine with a smooth 50 Hz refresh rate and an optical 1.5x base magnification that steps out to a usable 1.5-6x zoom range for both close-in scanning and mid-range identification.
A defining feature of the H315R is its integrated laser rangefinder that measures distances from 5 to 1200 yards, feeding real-time ranging data directly into the onboard ballistic calculator so the shooter can hold with confidence at varied distances. The unit is built around a compact 15mm objective lens in a pocketable handheld housing that measures approximately 11.5" long x 6" tall and weighs about 2.54 lb, making it easy to carry in a pack or run handheld on long glassing sessions for hogs, coyotes, and recovery work.
Whether you're scanning open terrain at dusk, patterning a field for predators, or ranging a distant ridge before a shot, the HOUND H315R combines 384x288 thermal resolution, 12µm pixel pitch, integrated LRF, and a ballistic calculator into one rugged handheld tool that punches well above its size.
