Daniel Defense MK18 RIS II AR-15 9.55" Free-Float Handguard - Black

The Daniel Defense MK18 RIS II is a 9.55" free-floating handguard for AR-15 and related AR-platform rifles with a carbine-length gas system. Developed for the USSOCOM SOPMOD II program, it provides a rigid accessory-mounting interface while allowing the barrel to remain free-floated.

The handguard is machined from aircraft-grade 6061-T6 aluminum and uses a steel barrel nut with Grade 8 military-specification fasteners. Its black Mil-Spec Type III hard-coat anodized finish covers an assembly measuring 9.55" long, 2.23" wide and 2.25" high, with a 1.15" inside diameter and a weight of 14.1 oz.

Full-length Mil-Spec 1913 Picatinny rails provide mounting space on four sides, including an uninterrupted continuous upper rail. Daniel Defense's patented six-bolt Bolt-Up mounting system secures the assembly to the upper receiver.

A two-piece configuration allows the lower rail section to be removed for attachment of an M203 launcher without separate mounting components or specialized M203 mounting tools. This handguard is specified for use with the Daniel Defense MK12 Low Profile Gas Block and does not have an integrated sling-swivel attachment point. This is a New standalone handguard, not a firearm.
