Daniel Defense M4A1 RIS II AR-15 12.25" Free-Float Handguard - Black

The Daniel Defense M4A1 RIS II 12.25" Handguard is a two-piece, free-floating quad-rail assembly for AR-15 and M4-pattern rifles using a carbine-length gas system. Developed for the USSOCOM SOPMOD II requirement, the design free-floats the barrel while providing an uninterrupted upper rail and Mil-Spec 1913 Picatinny rails for accessory mounting.

The handguard is machined from aircraft-grade 6061-T6 aluminum and protected by a black Mil-Spec Type III hard-coat anodized finish. Its 12.25" rail measures 2.23" wide and 2.25" high, with a 1.15" inside diameter. Product weight is 17.7 ounces.

Daniel Defense's patented Bolt-Up mounting system uses a hardened steel barrel nut and six Grade 8 military-specification fasteners. Daniel Defense specifies the MK12 Low Profile Gas Block for this M4A1 RIS II configuration. The removable lower rail section permits installation of an M203 launcher without special mounting tools. This model does not have an integrated sling-swivel attachment point.
