Daniel Defense DDM4 Hunter 5.56x45mm NATO 18" 32+1 Semi-Auto Rifle - Kryptek Highlander

The Daniel Defense DDM4 Hunter is an AR-15-style semi-automatic hunting rifle chambered in 5.56x45mm NATO. It combines an 18" S2W heavy-profile barrel, 32+1 capacity and a Kryptek Highlander digital camouflage finish in a 7 lb field-oriented configuration.

The 18" barrel, within the 18" to 18.99" barrel-length range, is cold-hammer-forged from chrome-moly-vanadium steel. This S2W heavy-profile barrel is chrome lined, magnetic-particle tested and finished with a heavy phosphate coating. It uses a 1:7 twist and has a threaded muzzle with 1/2x28 threads. A removable knurled steel thread protector with a salt-bath-nitride finish is included.

Operation is by a direct-impingement, mid-length gas system with a pinned, low-profile gas block made from hardened 4140 steel and given a heavy phosphate coating. The M16-profile bolt-carrier group is chrome lined and uses a magnetic-particle-tested bolt with a properly staked gas key, while the operating assembly uses an H buffer.

The upper and lower receivers are CNC-machined from 7075-T6 aluminum. The lower receiver features an enlarged, flared magazine well and a rear QD sling-swivel point, while the upper incorporates indexing marks and M4 feed ramps. A MFR 15.0 free-floating handguard machined from 6061-T6 aluminum provides a continuous Picatinny top rail and M-LOK attachment positions along the sides and bottom. Sights are not included, allowing the rail to accept compatible sights or an optic.

Fire-control and handling components include a Geissele SSA two-stage semi-automatic trigger, an ambidextrous safety selector and an independently ambidextrous GRIP-N-RIP charging handle. The charging handle has a Type III hard-coat-anodized finish and an anti-gas design that redirects gas upward and away from the shooter during suppressed use.

The Mil-Spec 6 Position stock is a Daniel Defense adjustable buttstock mounted on a 7075-T6 aluminum receiver extension. Both the stock and pistol grip are made from glass-filled polymer with soft-touch overmolding. Overall length adjusts from 33.38" to 37" according to stock position. The rifle weighs 7 lbs, placing it within the 7 lbs to 7.99 lbs weight range.

The receiver and furniture are black beneath the hydro-dipped Kryptek Highlander digital camouflage treatment, corresponding to the rifle's Digital Camouflage metal finish group. This rifle is offered in New condition and includes one Daniel Defense 32-round magazine and a Daniel Defense full-latch impact-resistant plastic case.
