Daniel Defense DD5 V4 Hunter 6.5 Creedmoor 18" 5+1 Semi-Auto Rifle - Kryptek Highlander

The Daniel Defense DD5 V4 Hunter is a centerfire semi-automatic rifle configured for hunting and long-range precision shooting. Chambered in 6.5 Creedmoor, it pairs an 18" barrel in the 18" to 18.99" barrel-length range with a 5+1 capacity. The rifle accepts SR-25-pattern magazines and includes one 5-round Magpul PMAG.

The cold-hammer-forged Daniel Defense proprietary-steel S2W-profile barrel is chrome lined, treated with a heavy phosphate finish, and rifled with a 1:8 twist. Its 5/8x24 threaded muzzle is fitted with a DD Superior Suppression Device made from salt-bath-nitride-finished 17-4 PH stainless steel.

A rifle-length direct-impingement gas system uses a pinned, user-adjustable 4140 hardened-steel gas block for suppressed or unsuppressed operation. The DLC-coated, superfinished bolt-carrier group incorporates a carrier buffer for optimized cycling, while the bolt uses enhanced extractor geometry and dual ejectors. Daniel Defense's four-bolt barrel-to-receiver connection system secures the barrel assembly to the upper receiver.

The upper and lower receivers are CNC-machined from 7075-T6 aluminum. The lower includes an enhanced flared magazine well and a rear QD sling-swivel attachment point. A 15" Daniel Defense DD5 Rail machined from 6061-T6 aluminum provides M-LOK attachment slots. The rifle has fully ambidextrous controls and an independently ambidextrous GRIP-N-RIP charging handle with anti-gas features.

Fire control consists of a Geissele SSA Two-Stage trigger and a manual thumb safety. This right-hand catalog configuration is optic ready, and no iron sights are identified as included.

The furniture includes a six-position mil-spec 7075-T6 aluminum receiver extension, a Daniel Defense glass-filled-polymer buttstock with SoftTouch overmolding, and a matching glass-filled-polymer pistol grip. Overall length adjusts from 35.38" to 39". Unloaded weight is 8.60 lbs, placing this configuration in the 8 lbs to 8.99 lbs weight range.

The rifle wears a Kryptek Highlander pattern with a black stock and grip. Its metal finish is classified in the Blued/Black metal finish group. This configuration is made in the USA.
