The Columbia River Squid XM is an everyday-carry folding knife designed by Lucas Burnley as a new iteration of the iconic Squid design. This version carries a 2.95" drop point blade in D2 tool steel with a black stonewashed finish, giving it excellent edge retention and a rugged, low-glare working surface that hides wear from daily carry.
Opening is handled by a flipper tab with assisted deployment, putting the blade into action smoothly and reliably one-handed. Once deployed, the Squid XM locks up via a sturdy frame lock, and the overall length stretches to 7.03" with a closed carry length of 4.11". The handle pairs a black G10 scale with a stainless steel frame for a balanced mix of grip texture and structural rigidity, and a pocket clip is included for convenient everyday carry.
Weighing just 3.60 oz, the Squid XM is light enough for comfortable daily pocket carry while still feeling substantial in hand for utility tasks, opening packages, and general cutting chores. The drop-point profile offers a useful balance of tip strength and belly for slicing, and the plain edge makes clean, controlled cuts through a wide range of materials.
This is current production from Columbia River Knife and Tool (CRKT), built to their quality specifications and designed by Lucas Burnley.
