The CRKT Provoke is a bold departure from convention, the first knife ever to feature CRKT's innovative Kinematic opening system. Designed by Joe Caswell, the Provoke transforms from a compact, pocket-friendly folder into a hard-use hawkbill karambit with the push of the thumb. A press on the upper crossbar drives the 2.41" hawkbill blade out and locks it into a fixed open position, while your grip stays locked on the handle for instant, one-handed deployment.
The blade is forged from D2 tool steel, a high-carbon, high-chromium workhorse prized for excellent edge retention and toughness. It carries a black TiCN (titanium carbonitride) coating that helps cut glare and adds corrosion resistance, while the Veff Serrations along the cutting edge deliver aggressive rope-cutting and material-slicing performance. The hawkbill profile curves back toward the user for controlled draw cuts and utility work.
The handle is machined from hard-anodized 6061-T6 aluminum in a stealthy black finish, giving the Provoke a solid, balanced feel at just 5.90 oz. Closed, it measures 4.96", opening to a full 7.25" overall length. A built-in pocket clip is included for secure everyday carry.
