The CRKT 4045 Provoke Compact is a folding karambit designed by Joe Caswell that brings Columbia River's signature Kinematic opening mechanism to a more compact, pocket-friendly everyday carry platform. The Provoke Compact reimagines the original Provoke as a trimmer, lighter folder while keeping the distinctive hawkbill profile and rapid one-handed deployment that made the lineup famous.

At the heart of the knife is a 2.26" hawkbill blade ground from D2 tool steel with a plain edge and a non-reflective stonewashed finish. The hawkbill profile is shaped for hooking and pulling cuts, and the compact blade keeps the knife easy to carry while still delivering the distinctive karambit cutting geometry. D2 tool steel provides strong edge retention for both everyday cutting tasks and defensive applications.

The handle is machined aluminum with a matching stonewashed finish for a cohesive look and a grippy, low-reflectivity surface. CRKT's Kinematic mechanism uses internal linkages to drive the blade out of the handle and lock it into the open position in one smooth motion, with no traditional thumb stud or flipper tab. Closing requires a deliberate press of the release so the blade stays locked during use. Overall length is 6.63", closed length is 4.54", and the knife weighs 4.40 oz, light enough for comfortable all-day pocket carry.

A pocket clip is included for convenient everyday carry. The Provoke Compact carries the same forward-opening Kinematic design as the full-size Provoke, trimmed down for those who want a more compact karambit folder.
