The Colt Gold Cup Trophy returns to the classic competition formula that made the nameplate legendary, chambered in 38 Super and built around a 5" National Match stainless steel barrel. The O5073XE configuration is a purpose-built target pistol that also pulls double duty as a hard-hitting defensive handgun in the hotter 38 Super chambering, and it carries Colt's signature 25 LPI checkering on the front strap and mainspring housing for a locked-in hold at the line.

This is a single-action 1911 with a polished stainless steel frame and a matching serrated stainless steel slide topped with a Novak fiber optic front sight paired to an adjustable Bomar-style rear sight for precise shot calling. An ambidextrous thumb safety works with an extended beavertail grip safety for fast, positive manipulation, while the blue scalloped G10 grip panels give the pistol a sharp visual counterpoint to the bright stainless finish. The 9+1 capacity keeps it right in the middle of the competition class.
