The Competition is built on a brushed stainless steel slide and frame, finished in Colt's matte stainless for corrosion resistance and a clean, professional appearance on the line. The slide is serrated for positive manipulation under recoil, and the pistol uses the Series 70 firing pin system - the traditional solid firing pin design favored by purists for its crisp, clean trigger pull. A dual recoil spring system helps tame the .45 ACP slide for faster follow-up shots and extended spring service life.
