Cold Steel Medium Luzon 4" Folding Plain 8Cr13MoV Black GFN Handle - Blackout

The Cold Steel Medium Luzon (CS-20NQLZ) is the mid-size variant of Cold Steel's Luzon tactical folder platform, trimmed down from the full-size Luzon for more practical everyday carry while keeping the hard-use DNA that defines the line. This is the blacked-out "Z" variant, featuring a black-coated blade and matching black hardware for a low-visibility, tactical look.

The blade is built from 8Cr13MoV stainless steel, a workhorse cutlery-grade alloy that Cold Steel expertly hardens to 57-58 Rockwell for a good balance of edge retention and easy resharpening. It runs 4" long at 0.11" thick, rides on a flat grind, and carries a clip-point profile with enough belly to make it a serious cutter. The black finish gives the blade a non-reflective, stealthy appearance.

Opening is handled by a flipper tab paired with a thumb stud for one-handed deployment. The lock is Cold Steel's signature leaf-spring lock, a standout feature on the Luzon platform, backed up by a secondary safety switch that prevents accidental disengagement during hard use. An extended tang adds impact resistance and gives the knife a distinctive tactical profile.

The handle is built around black GFN (glass-filled nylon) scales, a tough, lightweight material that handles abuse, moisture, and temperature swings without complaint. It's shaped for a full-hand grip and includes a pocket clip for tip-up carry, a lanyard hole for added retention, and a 5" closed length that opens out to a full 9" overall.

At roughly 99 grams, the Medium Luzon carries light enough for daily pocket rotation while still feeling substantial in the hand. It's a well-rounded tactical folder that bridges the gap between Cold Steel's larger Luzon and a more compact EDC blade.
