Cold Steel Kobun 5.5" Fixed Tanto Plain AUS-8A SS Black Kray-Ex Handle w/ Secure-Ex Sheath

The Cold Steel Kobun is a purpose-built lightweight fixed-blade boot knife designed around Cold Steel's iconic reinforced American Tanto point. Sized for unobtrusive belt or boot carry, the Kobun keeps the cross-section thin and the all-up weight down to just 4.40 oz while still putting a full 5.50" of blade on point. It is a practical backup blade for uniformed carry, a dependable camp and outdoor fixed blade, and a capable EDC option for users who prefer a fixed design over a folder.

The blade is cut from Japanese AUS-8A stainless steel in a tanto profile with a plain edge. Cold Steel's reinforced Tanto geometry thickens the spine through the tip area so the point resists bending and breaking during hard use, while the slim blade stock keeps the knife light and fast in the hand. The blade length of 5.50" combined with an overall length of 9.88" gives a full, confident grip without making the knife bulky to pack or carry.

The handle is molded from black Kray-Ex with a deep checkered texture that stays positive with wet hands, gloves, or cold-weather use. Kray-Ex is Cold Steel's grippy, weather-resistant rubber-polymer blend, and the Kobun's slim handle profile is shaped to minimize bulk while maximizing purchase. A fitted Secure-Ex sheath is included for safe carry and storage, and the sheath is set up with a belt clip so the Kobun rides securely on the waistband or boot top right out of the box.
