The Cold Steel Recon Tanto San Mai is a purpose-built tactical fixed blade designed at the request of special military units and adopted by SWAT teams and tactical professionals who demand a thick, reinforced tip that resists bending or breaking under extreme stress. This CS-35AM variant upgrades the classic Recon Tanto platform with Cold Steel's premium VG-10 San Mai laminated blade steel for superior edge retention and corrosion resistance.

The 7" tanto blade is ground with a plain edge and carries a 5mm blade thickness that gives it serious piercing authority. The VG-10 San Mai construction layers a hard VG-10 core between softer stainless outer plies, combining edge retention with the toughness needed for hard use. Overall length is 11.75", with a 4.75" handle that provides full grip room even for larger hands.

A black textured Kray-Ex handle offers a secure, non-slip grip in wet conditions or with gloved hands, and features an integral finger guard to keep the hand safely behind the edge during heavy use.
